Media Dynamics Laboratory, Graduate School of Information Science, Hokkaido University (hereinafter referred to as "the Laboratory") establishes this privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as "the Policy") regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, in the services (hereinafter referred to as "the Services") provided by the Laboratory.
(1) Information provided by users
The following information is provided by users when using the Services or through the use of the Services:
- Information inputted or submitted by users through input forms or other methods specified by the Laboratory
(2) Information obtained by the Laboratory based on the individual consent of users when using the Services
With the individual consent of users, as specified in 3-1, the Laboratory obtains the following information from the user's device:
- Video information, including the user's image
The acquired data and personal information will not be used for purposes other than providing the Services. The acquired data will be stored for analysis purposes only during the provision of the Services, and after the provision is completed, the acquired data will be deleted. Furthermore, acquired data will not be disclosed in a manner that violates privacy without permission.
- Images obtained from the user's web camera
3-2 Users can request the Laboratory to stop all or part of the collection or use of their user information by performing the designated settings in the Services. In this case, the Laboratory will promptly stop the use of the requested information in accordance with the Laboratory's prescribed procedures. However, depending on the item of user information, if the information cannot be acquired, or its use is essential for the Services, some functions of the Services may be suspended.

In this Policy, "user information" refers to information related to the identification of users, their behavior history on the communication service, and other information generated or accumulated in relation to users or their devices, which is acquired by the Laboratory based on this Policy. Depending on the method of acquisition, the user information acquired by the Laboratory in the Services will be as follows:(1) Information provided by users

5. Procedure for Changing the Privacy Policy
The Laboratory may change this Policy as necessary. In the event of any changes to this Policy, the effective date and content of the revised Policy will be announced and made known on the Laboratory's website.[Established on October 1, 2022]
